Ward is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Energy and Natural Resources, and Private Capital practices at our Paris office.
He commenced his career in research at the university, where he authored a thesis on the investment behavior of private equity investors. He has always had a penchant for exploring new developments and innovations. This affinity is what drives his enthusiasm for working on topics like renewable energy and hydrogen, collaborating with clients to develop and implement innovative solutions that pave the way for a fully decarbonized energy system.
Having relocated to Paris in 2012 and collaborating within international project teams spanning Europe and Asia, he honed his ability to approach problems with an open mind, viewing them from diverse perspectives, and devising tailored solutions to suit each client's unique circumstances. His support extends to guiding clients in strategy development, market entry, and new business development within the broad realm of the energy sector.
The energy transition exerts a significant impact across the entire value chain, from energy production to the efficient utilization of energy in industries and buildings. It presents vast business opportunities, but also formidable transformation challenges and the need to repurpose legacy assets
Additionally, Ward assists investors in evaluating opportunities within the energy sector, conducting due diligence, and ensuring that investment promises are realized.
He takes great satisfaction in witnessing clients return with successful projects that have been developed based on the strategies they designed together.
In his capacity as a co-lead of PrOWd in the Paris office, he fervently champions inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
In his leisure time, he indulges in his passion for cooking, specializing in crafting ice cream from the fruit grown in his garden. He also enjoys the activity of running.
